For the first time in my life, at 43 years old, I can honestly answer the question: what are your strengths?
Through transitional life events (like motherhood and living in a foreign country) I have gained so much and developed as a person beyond anything any formal education course could give me. It has given me insight into what I do well (and what I still need to work on!).
You learn so many skills through life experiences, just ask any busy parent where they learnt how to manage their time! Parenting, moving to another area, caring for a family member, illness and unexpected life events are just a few of the many ‘real-life’ experiences that give us those highly desirable soft skills.
So why wouldn't we try to learn that way, one which is tailored to our environment, which recognises who we are and which develops not only the hard skills but also our soft skills?
I love the Neurolanguage coaching® approach to language learning as it combines the acquisition of a hard skill, mastery of language, with the development of soft skills such as communication and time management.
